PWP Complete Inspection of EMEC Mooring System - 01 Nov 2009
PWP carried out a detailed survey of their mooring system at the EMEC site in September and October this year. The purpose of the survey was to asses the condition of mooring components for the E.ON P2
Pelamis machine due on site in 2010. All components were found to be in excellent condition. The survey was conducted using Delta Marine’s multicat vessel the Voe Viking.
PWP initally installed a mooring system at the EMEC site in 2003. The mooring system which was inspected is an upgrade completed in 2006 and used with the Pelamis prototype machine. It includes a patented disconnection and connection system. The mooring system will undergo reconfiguration work to ready it for the installation of the Pelamis P2 machine.
