Aquamarine Shortlisted in Observer Ethical Awards - 06 May 2010

Aquamarine Power has made it to the shortlist for The 2010 Observer Ethical Awards, it was announced today [6 May 2010].

The Edinburgh-based company has been shortlisted in the 'Jupiter Big Idea'  category for its innovative hydro-electric wave power technology, known as Oyster.

Now in their fifth year the awards, which are sponsored by Ecover, honour those that have an innovative way of looking at ethical issues and those who create practical solutions to these problems.

A record number of entries was whittled down in the last round by a panel of judges that included Colin Firth, actor; Ben Fogle, TV presenter; Sue Perkins, comedian; Kate Humble, TV presenter and Ben Okri, author, and was chaired by Lucy Siegle, ethical living correspondent, The Observer.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Colin Firth in London on June 10th.
