The on-line response to the Carlton Draught 60 second Big Ad commercial has resulted in it becoming a talking point across the globe - hitting the 1,000,000 viewings milestone in less than two weeks. In fact, it has been viewed in over 132 countries, from the Antilles to Macau to Nepal to Liechenstein to Zambia.
"It's an overwhelming response," said Matt Keen, GM Regular Beer, Foster's Australia. "We've been excited about the potential of this campaign from the outset, but to have one million viewings in less than two weeks has exceeded even our expectations."
Geoff Hamilton-Jones, Vividas' CEO, added "this has been the most frequently and widely viewed TV commercial powered by Vividas...by a long way."
The Big Ad was launched on-line on Thursday 21 July, over two weeks prior to its Sunday 7 August TV debut. "It's the first time we have launched a 60 second commercial on-line. And it's the first beer ad to be launched using Vividas full screen streaming technology, which allows people to view the ad in all its cinematic glory without special software. The combination of exceptional creative and the Vividas technology has taken a beer ad from Australia around the world in a matter of days," Keen added.
Geoff Hamilton-Jones added "as the majority of people have viewed the ad during business hours, usually around 8-9am, noon to 2pm and after 5pm, this shows that Vividas video streaming technology, which gets through corporate firewalls and plays full screen on corporate desktops, is enabling TV advertisers to reach large audiences not only outside the home but also outside traditional TV viewing hours."
