One of the leading providers in build-to-rent housing across the UK is developing 129 new homes in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. The much-needed homes will complement central Bedfordshire Council’s wider £6.2m Dunstable regeneration project.
The site, named Milard Grange, will deliver a total of 255 new homes which will incorporate private rental, shared ownership, and open market sale properties. Sigma Capital’s Private rental brand; Simple Life homes, with over 3500 properties across the UK, will launch 129 two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and six two-bedroom apartments on the development.
Matthew Townson at Sigma said: “It’s an exciting time to be working or living in Dunstable with the council’s urban expansion and regeneration project bringing much-desired housing, as part of a large-scale plan to deliver 5000 homes over the next 10 years.
“The town has a lot to offer, with extensive shopping facilities thanks to the council working to revitalise the high street, injecting a significant amount into future proofing. It is also improving broadband speed, as well as connectivity such as cycle routes and bus services. The site sits within easy reach of green fields and parks but also within easy reach of Milton Keynes and London via the M5-M1 Link.”
Alongside Simple Life’s 129 properties, the scheme comprises 49 private sale homes developed by UK’s leading mixed-tenure scheme, Countryside, and 77 Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association (BPHA) affordable rent and shared ownership homes. The development, as a whole, is part of Countryside’s newly launched region in the Chilterns.
Gareth Jacob, managing director, partnerships Chilterns, Countryside commented: “We’re really pleased to be working with Simple Life as part of Countryside’s newly established foothold in the Chilterns. Working closely together, we’ll deliver a range of high-quality homes, across a mix of tenures, for the Dunstable community which will serve to underpin the development’s long-term sustainability. Our unique partnerships model has a 30-year track record of developing complex regeneration schemes across the country and we are delighted to harness it for the benefit of this fantastic regeneration project, led by Bedfordshire Council.”
Simple Life identifies areas which have an undersupply of high-quality rental homes with the benefit of a corporate landlord, offering long-term contracts, 24/7 maintenance and a professional approach to customer service.
These homes are now available and open for applications, the first phase expected to complete later this year. For more information on the development visit www.simplelifehomes.co.uk/milardgrange
