Colleague Dane Matthews is raising money for Doing it (a triathlon) for the Kids, fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. We were delighted to support this cause and super impressed by Dane’s commitment to undertaking this challenge.
Dane said,
“I wanted to raise money for Great Ormond Street because they are a fantastic charity who help some of the most vulnerable people in our society – many of whom spend much of their early life in hospital.
Over the last 2 years I have really reflected on how privileged I am to be healthy and able to do my bit to help out, and as a proud uncle of three kids I have signed up to do an Olympic Plus Triathlon in August to raise some money for the children who need it and hopefully make a bit of a difference.”
Dane admits this triathlon will be a challenge. A reasonably competent runner (his words) he only recently owned a bike and is not a confident swimmer, so 1500m swim, 80km cycle and a 10k run to finish will be some personal achievement. We wish Dane all the best and look forward to following his progress.
