Simple Life Management, the in-house operational arm of Sigma Capital, has rolled out a product roadmap for its My Simple Life app, after hitting the milestone of 8,000 residents using the app to manage their tenancies.
The native app was officially launched in 2021, following frustration around web-based off-the-shelf solutions. The app aimed to give tenants the simplicity of managing everything in one place, integrating with multiple systems from onboarding to making maintenance requests to connecting with neighbours.
Version 1.0.8, launched in 2025, marks a significant advancement in the platform’s evolution, delivering a more connected, intuitive, and seamless resident experience. This release introduces direct in-app messaging with the team for more convenient and responsive communication and automated end-of-tenancy alerts to keep residents informed at checkout.
The app also includes a fully redesigned contact hub for improved accessibility and usability, and a beta launch of enhanced maintenance access, providing greater visibility, efficiency, and control across every stage of the resident journey.
With 92% of Simple Life Management properties onboard (80% of Sigma Capital’s full portfolio), multiple projects are planned for 2026 to expand support across the entire resident lifecycle, ensuring consistent touchpoints across every stage of the customer journey.
To enhance customer experience and operational efficiency, Simple Life has also led the development of its management systems to launch a custom-built, branded maintenance portal, accessed directly via the app, featuring a unique fault-tree diagnosis tool with embedded ‘how-to’ videos, enabling residents to complete safe self-fixes, reducing unnecessary callouts and simplifying the rectification of small issues without customer inconvenience.
The investment in the My Simple Life app and the moment of reaching 8,000 users engaged comes as Sigma Capital prepares for completion of its fully owned initial portfolio of 4,515 homes in the next 12 months.
Graham Barnet, CEO at Sigma Capital, said:
“We’re consistently innovating as leaders in the build-to-rent sector, and our native app is a huge part of that. We explored lots of out-of-the-box options, but they all had limitations, which led to us launching My Simple Life in 2021.
“Since then, the app has grown exponentially, and its effectiveness is evidenced as we’ve now hit 92% of all Sigma owned properties onboarded, and the feedback has been fantastic. This milestone comes after we took the move to internalise almost all our services to offer a complete agile end-to-end service for our customers.
“The maintenance management feature of the app is something that we’re now working with the wider industry to roll out as a best-practice model, and I look forward to seeing the team continue to utilise our technology to provide a world-class customer experience for our tenants.”
