24.5 Mile Walk for London Youth

Partnerships are very important to us at Sigma/Simple Life, and where possible we like to support the initiatives of colleagues and partners. It was wonderful, this week, to be able to support our friends at KFH and Simple Life London, with a donation of £500, as they teamed up to raise funds for London Youth, a charity we supported in our 12 Days of Christmas ‘21 project. London Youth is a charity focused on improving the lives of young people in the capital, challenging them to become the best they can be. London hosts the worst child poverty rate in the UK. Young people need opportunities outside school to have fun with their friends, to learn new skills, to make a positive change in their communities and to shape the city they live in. However, youth clubs are hugely underfunded and struggling, and young people are facing more challenges than ever before, post-pandemic. London Youth supports 600 youth organisations across London and provides incredible opportunities for young people in sports, arts, mental health, social action, employability, outdoor learning and more! We are keen to support their great work, and that of many charities, through such sponsorship, events and activities.

The team completed a 24.5 mile walk across the South East from Chislehurst to London Bridge on Wednesday 14 September, and strong teamwork was very much in evidence. Completed in approximately 8 hrs, and covering over 57,000 steps each, raising over £4,500 for this charity, funds which will be put to great use with young people across the capital.

The team agree that the resulting muscle pain and sore feet were so worth it, and are rightly very proud of this team achievement. Well done to the whole team.
