Simple Life Management, the in-house operational arm of leading build-to-rent (BTR) specialist Sigma Capital, has announced the expansion of its team, with five new senior hires brought on board as part of its strategic growth plan.
Four of the five new starters join from Ascend, the single-family housing management platform founded by Ged McPartlin, the Managing Director of Simple Life Management. The team joining from Ascend includes Adam Stephenson (Director of Operations), Michael Burgess (Head of Technology), Josh Foster (Head of Credit Control) and Joe Alderton (Senior Data Analyst).
Also taking on a department head role is Emma Baker, who joins Simple Life Homes as Head of People and Culture from Blackburn-based composite materials firm Cristex.
Earlier this year, Sigma Capital brought the lettings and property management of its London build-to-rent portfolio in-house through Simple Life Management. The move saw Simple Life Management assume responsibility for a 1,432-home multi-family portfolio (built and under construction) owned through a joint venture between Sigma Capital and investment firm EQT Exeter. This takes the total homes managed by Simple Life Management to 5,942 (completed and under construction) across the UK.
With the appointment of Sona Kaur, who joined the company late last year as Head of Customer Service, along with this latest raft of hires, Simple Life Management has now significantly strengthened its senior team as it prepares for further future expansion.
The lettings and asset management business is actively seeking to increase its national portfolio, through enhancing institutional partnerships and further consolidating the platform’s position as one of the UK’s leading integrated single-family housing operators.
Ged McPartlin, Managing Director at Simple Life Management, said:
“Since joining the Simple Life Management team earlier this year, I have been focused on how we can accelerate our next phase of growth, and a big part of that strategy has been about securing the strongest team to help us achieve those goals.
“By bringing in these senior hires right across the business, we are well positioned to continue to scale at pace. Having worked with many of the new team previously, I know first-hand the passion and drive that they bring and I look forward to seeing them continue to thrive.”
