Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer specialising in placemaking and regeneration, has topped out the first homes at its new Arleston site on Dawley Road. Upon completion, the development will deliver 103 homes for the area.
Bluebell Manor will offer a range of 72 open market three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes and through its partner, Sigma Capital there will be 31 homes available for private rent. The site, which will feature extensive landscaping and back onto Arleston Manor House, is already proving popular, with a number of first-release open market homes now reserved ahead of show homes opening next month.
As part of the new development, Countryside will be making a significant financial contribution of £512,720 to public services for local people. This includes £340,720 committed to nearby primary and secondary educational facilities and £150,000 earmarked for the provision of open space and an off-site play area.
The investment is also seeing Countryside contribute £10,000 towards improvement works to three bus stops along Kingsland as well as £5,000 towards the support and monitoring of the required Travel Plan. A further £7,000 will go towards the costs associated with re-locating the 40mph speed limit along Dawley Road.
Adam Daniels, Managing Director, Partnerships West Midlands, Countryside said: “We’re all delighted to be topping out on these homes at Bluebell Manor and are confident that the development will not only provide high quality and sustainable homes but a significant financial boost for Telford. Thanks to our close partnership with Sigma Capital, this development will also cater to the demand for the private rental sector housing.”
Jason Berry, Regional MD, Sigma Capital commented: “We’re really pleased to be part of this brilliant site with Countryside. Building a long-term community and investing in the wider local community is something of great importance to us at Sigma, and as one of the leaders of new build rental housing in the UK, we are looking forward to continuing the community support that Countryside has already begun, for years to come. We’re due to start taking applications within the next couple of months and we’re anticipating high demand following great success on our previous sites in the Telford area.”
