Countryside Partnerships, part of the Vistry Group, and build-to-rent specialists Sigma Capital Group, recently gave Cllr Tracy Kelly, Salford City Council’s lead member for housing, property, and regeneration, a firsthand look at the progress made at The Fairways at Brackley Village development on the former Brackley Golf Club site in Little Hulton, Salford.
Vistry is providing 345 homes at The Fairways, with 138 available to rent and managed by Sigma’s Simple Life Homes Build to Rent (BTR) brand, while the remaining 207 homes will be sold on the open market under Vistry’s Countryside Homes brand.
The combined Brackley Golf Club site, which encompasses a further 345 homes to be delivered by Bellway, is poised to significantly contribute to Salford City Council’s housing targets. Cllr Kelly, who is also the deputy city mayor, visited the development which promises a range of benefits to the local community, backed by a substantial £3.7 million investment in the surrounding area.
As well as enhanced transport connections and education provision, Vistry is investing in Amblecote playing fields – including building a new changing room facility. Furthermore, Vistry aims to enhance the public realm and contribute to off-site open spaces.
Joe Turner, Managing Director, Vistry Manchester and Cheshire East:
“It’s great to see progress at The Fairways coming on so well and to welcome Cllr Kelly to the development.
Little Hulton has been earmarked as a target area for investment in Salford City Council’s Local Plan and we’re proud to support those ambitions by bringing a substantial amount of high-quality, mixed tenure homes to the area.”
Jason Berry, Managing Director, Sigma Capital:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Countryside Partnerships and Salford City Council on what is set to be a very popular development. Having already delivered a large number of build to rent homes in the local area with Countryside, we expect The Fairways to experience the same high demand. Together with our partners, we’re really pleased to be able to offer local renters a much needed professionalised rental experience and a high quality home.”
Councillor Tracy Kelly, Statutory Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing, Property and Regeneration:
“It is great to see the progress being made on these brand new homes in Little Hulton – with a mixed tenure that local people require. A big thank you goes to all who have been involved in making this progress so far.
“Of the 345 homes – 148 will be available to rent and managed by our partners at the Sigma Group. Local people are desperate for affordable homes to live in during this cost-of-living and housing crisis. I look forward to the official opening when people can move in.”
