Sigma Capital Wins Public Private Collaboration of the Year at Yorkshire Insider Property Awards!

Sigma Capital, along with housebuilding partner Engie Places and Communities and Sheffield Housing Company has been awarded Public Private Collaboration of the Year at the Yorkshire Insider Property Awards, for their new housing development schemes in Sheffield.

The focus of the award entry was Prince’s Gardens, a large site built by Engie to deliver 256 houses as part of a £32m scheme. Works commenced on site in 2018 and features 163 two and three bedroom homes for private rent for Sigma on behalf of The PRS REIT plc, falling under Sigma’s Simple Life rental brand. A further 93 three and four bedroom homes were built for Sheffield Housing Company (marketed by Keepmoat Homes) for affordable open market sale. The site has a large public park to the rear, with on-site flower garden, water feature and tree-lined streets, as well as children’s play facilities.

This pioneering partnership is one of the only few joint public/private housing ventures delivering homes for private rent, affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale across Sheffield and has only been made possible through the strong working relationship of all partners. ENGIE, Sigma and Sheffield Housing Company have worked tirelessly to ensure a productive collaborative working relationship, with all three being involved from concept to build stages at Prince’s Gardens.

The success of the partnership and the subsequent award win has been testament to the different strengths and expertise that each party has brought to the table, from quality of build and specification, property management, regeneration and community building.
