A ground-breaking ceremony has marked the start of construction on a brand-new development of private rental family homes in Bradford.
The £5.6 million development, located on Romanby Shaw in the Greengates area of the city, will see energy and regeneration specialist ENGIE construct 47 two, three and four-bedroom homes for private rent on behalf of Sigma Capital Group plc.
Sigma’s large scale PRS model is targeting the delivery of over 20,000 new family homes for rent across key regional cities in England over the next five years. All of Sigma’s private rental homes will be brought to market by Sigma’s PRS brand, Simple Life: www.simplelifehomes.co.uk.
Nathan Brough, Regional Director at ENGIE, said: “We’ve been working with Sigma over the last few years to create more than 200 homes in city neighbourhoods in South Yorkshire, and have seen the positive transformation it has brought to these areas by offering people the opportunity to live in conveniently-located high quality new homes without the commitments of home ownership. We’re delighted that we can now bring our partnership to West Yorkshire, and we are sure this development will be another brilliant example of much needed investment in private rental housing.”
Andy Beattie, Development Manager at Sigma comments: “We are very pleased to be working with ENGIE on what is set to create another very successful and vibrant community. As the UK market leaders in private rental family homes, we pride ourselves on a high quality product through our trusted house builder partners, and the ability to offer our customers an incomparable experience, which aims to exceed the normal expectations within the private rental market. We hope that our homes are well received as we enter a new geographical area, with the intention to offer families an affordable, stress-free option to live in a brand new home.”
Planning services for the project will be provided by Lichfields.
Adam Jackson, Senior Planner at Lichfields, said: “We are delighted to be able to assist with the delivery of this scheme on a site which is in need of regeneration. The development will provide an attractive residential environment in a sustainable location and will deliver a tenure of homes which is becoming increasingly important to a diversifying housing market.”
